West Ham's new shirt sponsor has Dubai links.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce and players Joe Cole, Kevin Nolan

and Matt Jarvis were present at the agreement's announcement on the

Alpari Trading Floor in London on Monday.

The agreement follows on from Emirates airline's sponsorship

of the Hammers' London rivals Arsenal and the Abu Dhabi ownership

of Manchester City, while second-tier club Leeds United were also

recently taken over by a Dubai-based investment company.

Karren Brady, West Ham's Vice-Chairman, said: "We are

enthused and excited to enter into this new partnership with Alpari.

This landmark deal, along with a host of other significant strides

Dubai: West Ham United will join the growing band of English clubs

with UAE connections next season following a shirt sponsorship deal with

the Alpari Group.

The foreign currency broker, whose Dubai subsidiary Alpari ME DMCC already supports the GCC Champions League, will see their aACAyAlpari FX

Trading' logo emblazoned across the Premier League club's

shirt and their Upton Park stadium for three years from the start of the

2013/14 season. They replace the club's current main sponsor

SBOBET, an Asia-based online bookmaker.


They are just one of several Premier League clubs -- along with

Sunderland, Swansea City, Norwich City, QPR and Reading, who are in

Dubai taking advantage of a break in league fixtures due to the fifth

round of the FA Cup being scheduled for this weekend. Reading are

training at Al Wasl club, while Sunderland and QPR are at the Jebel Ali

Centre of Excellence.
