I just got this unit a while back. It is awesome. I took it to a friends house, and we played for hours while his PS3, Wii, and XBox 360 collected dust. The only con is that the joystick is starting to feel just a little mushy. Though I think it might be from my nieces and nephews wrenching too hard on it. The games on it are so much fun. Really brings back memories.

this reminded my dad of the good ol days, the games are very addicting. this is a good present for a dad that remembers atari games, namco games ect. kids games online

I bought an older version that was different from this one and the joystick sucked but this one is super responsive. I love it because now my hubby and I compete for high scores. We love Pac-man plus. It's just awesome and harder than regular pac-man. Any pac-man or Galaga fan should own this. I own console versions of these games on xbox 360 and ps3 but the joystick for those consoles just suck. They're good for fighting games but if you want inexpensive old school classic fun then get this product :)

better pac man now One of the simplest, yet most addictive, arcade games to come out of the 1980s is PacMan. Even now, those who are devoted to the game spend too many hours to count trying to get higher scores. With mixed success, this classic game has been acclimated and adapted over the years to make it playable on various platforms. Currently I'm going to observe the flash version made by Paul Neave.

It is not worth for you to even read this review, if you have never played PacMan. Sir, it is very clear that you are not very knowledgeable about gaming.

I'm starting to wonder if you are a space alien who got online accidentally. A brief description is in order.

You play as the character PacMan in the arcade game PacMan. You might wonder what exactly PacMan is. pacman

After more than 20 years, the consensus is that he is a type of supernatural cheese man addicted to yellow M&Ms, fearful of colors other than blue who is trapped, for whatever reasons, in a maze with rainbow-colored ghosts. Eat all the dots on a stage, flee the ghosts, and use the power pellets to turn the tables. Each level will sporadically show a piece of fruit or candy that is worth bonus points when eaten. A new board starts when all of the previous one's dots have been cleared. That's the whole game, and it could go on for days given a very proficient player.

Most PacMan arcade game ports feature the same basic structure, but there are often slight differences from the original because of hardware limitations, programming issues or decisions by the developer. The differences aren't as pronounced in this variety compared with others. This version caused me to have a couple of major complaints. Number one would be PacMan's actual speed. The pace of the game differs from the arcade game, which threw me off. The artificial intelligence on the ghosts was another problem, which caused them to be not as sharp as they could have been. A few times they would just bump into walls before pursuing me. They worked out what they were meant to do and returned to it rapidly, but the glitch got on my nerves.

I'll concede that, even though I've never been a big fan of Pac-Man, it can be a pretty fun game, especially since this is a free version. When I played PacMan again, I remembered how I would go to the beach and stand in the arcade for hours. Locating an arcade will be pretty challenging.

Game Verdict
This port, in essence, isn't that dissimilar from the original version. If you are after a true PacMan experience at home, this is as good as you're going to get. It isn't the biggest deal in the world, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth your while to look at it.

Five information and facts you almost certainly never knew with regards to Pac-Man

pacman online Pac-Man is familiar to most of us today since it's been on the pop culture scene for more than three decades.

PacMan, as a household icon, has appeared on cereal boxes, has had his own Saturday Morning cartoon, and has been featured on virtually every gaming platform ever released.

There used to be other companies in the business besides Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. pacman Also included are every cell phone with a screen, portable systems that have long since died and plug-and-play TV devices. The publisher, Namco-Bandai, has really done great during the economy, which has been slow, by marketing the little pellet-muncher for the arcade games.

Secrets are said to be contained even in well known icons. At the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this week, Toru Iwatani, the game's creator, gave a postmortem on the biggest franchise of the industry and regaled fans with tales.

The five most surprising: The game's motive was to attract girls. Gaming in the late 1970s was an all-male club, even though today's player is slightly more likely to be male. Iwatani hoped to do this better and create a game that could be played by men and women together and by families also.

When you play the game it may seem four ghosts are chasing you actively and each ghost have specific orders.

True is not the only one in it. Programming them with that purpose was intentionally avoided by Iwatani as it would have resulted in PacMan zipping about the screen with the four ghost in tow.

Actually, only the red ghost, Blinky, is in hot pursuit of PacMan the entire time. Pinky tries to get in front of PacMan at all costs. Inky, the blue ghost, tends to affix himself to a small area. The orange ghost, named Clyde, moves randomly throughout the maze.

But since pac-man is moving all the time, the ghosts also move and change direction all the time in order to succeed, and that makes the game more challenging.

What's the precise definition of Pac-Man?

You may know that a pizza with a missing slice was the inspiration for the design of Pac-Man. Food was the object that inspired the game.

That particular theme has been associated with the game. When in Japan they say puck puck, it's like Americans using the term munch munch. The original name was Puck-Man which later became known as Munch Man. Midway had to change the title or risk offending consumers.

The missing piece
In order to attract a wider audience, Pac-Man was designed to be a very simple game. The technology in 1980 made this a bit easier. Even though Iwatani is happy with the game now, there was a time when he felt it needed something added.

Although it's difficult to imagine Pac-Man without the brightly colored ghosts, the developer, Iwatani, says he was pressured to change that.
All the ghosts in pac man almost wound up the same color because the president of Namco thought players might think some ghosts were on pac mans side.

The order was brushed off by Iwatani, and on surveys sent to the game's test audience, one question inquired whether they would prefer one color ghost or four. The option of a single-color was not chosen by a single person. In the end, the president was persuaded of her mistake.

An Investigation Towards the Very well Admired Video game of PacMan

pacman onlineThe lives we live are like video games. Despite how good you might be, it always ends with you being zapped. That's the truth, yes? Perhaps. If you ask Billy Mitchell's opinion, he will not have the same viewpoint. How come? As of 1999, he will go down in the annals of human history. He was known as the man who completed the first perfect PacMan game with an all-time high score of 3,333,360 points. In six hours, he completed 256 Boards without losing a single life! Although he could have continued, the game was essentially over since the game's creators never developed the 257th board. Mr. Mitchell brought a lot of attention to these games early on. play pacman On the contrary, it is not his ability to play arcade games well. The PacMan brand has been highly successful for over 20 years! Who would have expected that such a simple game would become one of the most-famous, most-played arcade games of all times?

Pacman game was originally developed for the arcades in Japan. Pacman was released in May, 1980 by Namco. A slice of pizza began the makings of the famous PacMan game. The man who designed games for Namco, Tohru Iwatani, decided to eat a pizza and the gaming world was never the same again.

The basic rules of Pac-Man are simple: A person directs the main character, Pac-Man through various mazes with a goal of eating all the pellets in the current maze, while avoiding being caught by ghosts, before advancing to the next maze. PacMan should avoid contact with the four ghosts in the maze. Everytime he comes in contact with a ghost, PacMan has to give up a life.

After every life is gone, then the game is finished.

It was reported that the video game company Namco, gained over one-hundred million dollars from the revenues from Pac-Man. The fact that PacMan has been licensed to over 250 companies, provides consumers with an assortment of over 400 products ranging from breakfast cereals to toys, and even a car called the PacMan Hot Rod. Media, such as television, joined the craze when airing ABC's cartoon The PacMan Show. There is even a rare music record called PacMan Fever! Returning to the game, I was reminded why PacMan has become such a timeless icon.

On its 20th anniversary (at the beginning of 2000), Namco resuscitated their first PacMan game series through the PacMan World that has the classic PacMan game just incorporated with the modern quest game play of video games. Namco Bandai is bound to release a new PacMan game edition in recognition of its 30th anniversary. Details are sketchy, however you can expect only fun and entertainment from PacMan, the big, perky, yellow munching ball arcade game.

PacMan--The record-setting arcade story.

better pac man nowIt's not commonly known that the Pacman arcade game is the last video game with words. The sport, created by Toru Itwani and licensed by Namco, is based on an old Japanese folk story. All you really had to do was make it through a maze by eating up a bunch of dots and staying away from the ghosts.

The PacMan arcade game is still in high demand due to its cult following. Ultimately, Midway chose to produce it in the US. play pacman

If you do not like standard arcade games, and are tired of playing your house invading games, the Pacman arcade game is the one for you to invest in. 'Astroids' was soon striped as the greatest game of all time for promoting. It will likely continue to sell to generations to come.

The player maneuvers the central character around the maze by consuming pellets. You'll go to the next higher level after you have received your picture to consume all of the dots without being eaten yourself. In the game Pac-Man, the player moves the character through the maze while avoiding being caught by the four ghosts that chase him. Should Pac-Man make contact with one of the ghosts, he will die.

Once everyone in the game is dead, the game is over. Going to the maze's four corners, you find that there is an energy up in each one. Pac-Man can eat energy-ups which will allow him to gobble up the ghosts for a short time. As soon as the ghost is consumed, it returns to the pen where it most likely will be resuscitated. As the game advances to its various stage levels, the ghosts experience a shortened regeneration time.

Initially it may appear that the ghosts are moving around randomly. While it may take some time to figure out where and how they move, you will soon be able to effortlessly track their paths.
Skilled gamers will plot their patterns out, all but ensuring success.

Don't let the simplicity of the Pacman arcade game fool you; playing can still give you quite a thrill! Many people, you will discover, will become addicted to the game. Its one of the greatest games ever and is also very satisfying to play.
