New Story 1
Adrian's Love

Adrian Beldina sat in her World Comm. class, very bored. The sophomore was one of the few people who actually appeared to be listening to Mr.Rockwell, the old, nose-quivering, stooping teacher. Adrian doodled tiny little hearts all over her paper, and listened with half an ear. She heard a little snore, and looked up, then shaked her head and smiled. That was Lauren Tuttle for you. One of Adrian's classmates, Lauren was perpetually snoozing in every single class. But then again, she got a 4.0. And how exactly she did, Adrian couldn't fathom. But, thought Adrian, at least she didn't have any sign of under eye circles, like Adrian did. Adrian worked pretty hard in all of her classes..she still took time to have fun (like with playing Super Mario 2 on her Gameboy Advance) but it required a lot of work to have Adrian's stellar 3.95 cumulative gpa. Adrian looked around, her straight dark brown hair swirling.....Okay, there was Brian-a conceited, over confident jerk who many girls liked, flirting with the class slut, Whitney (needless to say, a peroxide washed blonde), then there was the group of guys in the corner who always made paper airplanes and chatted the whole hour. Adrian rolled her light brown eyes. What was the point of listening anyways? She dug out her Sony cd player in a flash, and immediately went to no.3: a song from Moulin Rouge, called "Come What May." It was sung by Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor (who was a total hottie!) and everytime the song played, she couldn't help feeling like he was singing to her, that he was so stunned by her sweet eyes and loved her until his dying day.
Adrian was a hopeless romantic, and she didn't like to publicize it. She had been hurt in the past, rejected by someone that she had really liked.....and she had sworn off love, pretty much. Sure, she had her flighting crushes, but what Adrian was most scared of was getting hurt again....she didn't think that she could handle it. She crossed her arms over her 34C chest, noticing how her breasts stuck out in the low cut black shirt she wore. "Great", she thought grimacing. Now everyone would probably think she was a slut, even though she wasn't. She had never had a boyfriend (even though she desperately wanted one) and she was kind of shy. Since she was smart and quiet (around people she didn't know) people pretty much assumed that she was either a snob or a lesbian. While Adrian didn't have anything against being a lesbian, she wasn't one at all. The 130 pound sophomore thought that her weight was a little more than she liked it to be, but when people asked about it, they would be stunned to hear of it, because she looked like she was 120 lbs instead.

That, thought Adrian, was a factor working in her favor. She sighed, feeling so depressed. Why couldn't she find a guy? Everywhere she looked, she saw couples....Why didn't guys like her? Ok, so there was that (she hated to say it) slightly dweeby, skinny guy that may like her (a guy with the name of Alec or something) but she wanted a true love, someone who was well....she hated being superficial, but hot. After all, she wasn't that bad looking. She had creamy, slightly tan skin, and light brown eyes that sparkled, dark brown hair that went nearly to her waist (depending on whether she curled it or straightened it), and she had pretty lips. They weren't too big, or too small, but she felt that they were her best feature. Little did she know that it drove guys wild.........

At Lunchtime....

Michael Halden and his friends sat at their usual table, talking about their band. Mike and his friends had a band, called Phat HYPE-it was a funny inside joke with his friends, that's how they had named the band. They sat talking about when they were going to play, and as the other guys did, Mike risked a glance at Her. She was sitting a couple tables away, with her gleaming hair tossing about as she chatted with one of her friends. She was very animated, as she raised her hands and seemed as if she was telling a story, and it looked like her friends were laughing. He soo loved her smile. He felt himself blush, which the 6" tall, blonde haired, blue eyed junior rarely ever did. She was just so...different then all of the other girls. She wasn't all prissy, or gossipy. And she didn't fool around with every guy. She had an easy going nature, and her smile just made him melt. Her name was Adrian Beldina, and he liked her....a lot. His friends had often teased him about her, calling him "whipped." Although he had had girlfriends in the past, none of them had seemed to stick in his mind the way Adrian did. He loved to see her smile. He felt himself blush again, and he hastily turned his gaze back to his friends. His friend smirked at him; it looked like he had seen Michael just looking at Adrian. Mike's friend, Jeff was a football player, taller than Michael, and he had the kind of confidence that drove girls wild. Jeff leaned over confidentially to Mike, and said, "So you haven't told her yet, man?" Jeff asked straight on. Mike squirmed...He had told Jeff he had a thing for Adrian...but it wasn't like they were buddy buddy or something. "Um no." Mike said again. Jeff's intense woodsy green eyes focused on Michael. "Look...." he said almost sighing. "You've liked her for over a year now! You've told all of us...you've even written her a song. Whatever it is Mike, you've gotta tell her! She's a catch, you gotta let her know that!" Mike spoke almost defiantly. "I don't know if she likes me back......and if she didn't..."
Jeff exclaimed, "Well then just tell her!" Mike shook his head. He was welll.....he wouldn't admit this to anyone, but he was just scared, that she wouldn't like him or reject him or just laugh in his face. He didn't want to handle that. Jeff shook his head, his green eyes sparkling with laughter. "Man....you are screwed."

At Adrian's Table......
Adrian sat down at the table, trying not to topple her over heavy backpack. Her blue LTD tee stretched across her well-defined waist, and exaggerated her firm breasts-kept in place by Vicki's Secret, thanks very much. One of her friend's scooted over to her. Adrian put her head in her hands and sighed. Once again, she was really depressed. She saw some popular skinny girl wrapped around a guy, and couldn't help but wish it was her. Her friend, Teresa-was a little overweight, with crazy red hair that contrasted with her freckles. "What's up?" said Teresa. "I'm so depressed....." said Adrian, rolling her head over on the table to face Teresa. Teresa looked at her concerned,"Why?" Adrian replied...."Well..I just wish i had someone, ya know? I feel like i'll never have a guy, ya know?" Teresa hesistated long enough for Adrian to look up. Teresa spoke slowly. "I know someone who likes you though......but i can't tell you because it's a secret. He's an upperclassman." Adrian glanced up, daring to feel elated. "Are you serious???" yelled Adrian. She put her head down as she noticed several people staring at her like she was a psycho. She could hardly believe, dare to believe. Teresa spoke..."Yeah,.....he's liked you for a while....but he's kind of shy."
Adrian's breathing became more rapid. How could anyone like her..and she didn't even KNOW it??? She looked down at her outfit, feeling so self-conscious. And to think, that who ever liked her might be looking at her right now....All of a sudden, she felt sick to her stomach. She threw her lunch into the can and ran out of the lunchroom.

In the hall....
Adrian rushed into the hall, ignoring the gossip mongers faces', and people who looked at her curiously. Why was she panicking? Teresa could be lying after all. But she felt the blood rush to her cheeks...who would like her? And why??? There were over 1400 people in her school, whoever liked her could like any of the 700 other girls. And she was just a sophomore anyways. Why wouldn't he want to date another junior? She shook her head, taking in little breaths, leaning against the wall. One of her other friends came up to her, Veronica Baldwin. "Hey Adrian!" she said enthusiastically, her copper hair swirling. Veronica was the type that most guys would describe as "studious." Veronica cared a lot about her grades, and always said that she had plenty of time before she had to get involved with guys. Nevertheless, Veronica was very petite, and pretty. "Um...hey Ver!" said Adrian, trying to cover up her past complicated feelings. "Well Adrian, so do you think that you're gonna go to track today?" Veronica asked, fiddling with her bracelet. Adrian let out a little breath. Okay, this question she could answer. "Um. yeah, i guess I'll see ya there." Ver smiled. Okay, I'll see you there Adrian! And she took off. Adrian didn't know why she didn't tell her friend. She felt that this was too precious, too new to tell Ver when she had hardly soaked it in herself. Adrian calmed herself down. She noticed the door swing open into the hall from the cafeteria, and she wondered if Teresa was going to come elaborate. But she only saw some tall guys, and she looked away, scowling. She felt so conflicted. Why couldn't she just know who the damn person was?

The NEXT day...
Adrian woke up feeling very happy for some reason. Then she smiled as she knew why. Someone out there actually liked her-hell, he could even love her. He might love her lips, or her body, or her sparkling white smile. She felt beautiful for once as she looked in the mirror. She got dressed, putting on one of her favorite bras-a lacy green push-up bra, then she put on her best body hugging dark jeans, and topped it off with a red turtleneck, which was definetly her color. She felt absolutely fabulous, and rejuvenated. She had been sort of depressed, but now she felt as if she had found the light at the end of the tunnel, or however that saying goes. She went downstairs, her good mood slowly sinking. There was her mom, looking all happy, as she usually was. Her mom annoyed Adrian. Adrian felt like her mom was always so fake, with her perfectly lipsticked mouth and eye catching outfits. She always seemed to put a damper on Adrian's mood, whether it was because she was perpetually happy and cheerful and perky or whether it was because Adrian was nothing like that. Her mother chirped to her, "Good morning Adi!" And Adrian muttered back, Morning. Didn't her mother know that it was nearly 7 in the morning, not time for annoying little meaningless conversations? "Now Adi, it wouldn't hurt you ya know, if you were just to put on a good smile, " her mother said, scowling at Adrian. "It'll help you to get friends, you know. You don't have to be such a grouch all the time." Adrian stared into her bowl of cream of wheat, scenes from school passing by. Her friend, Veronica and her giggling over her Josh Hartnett infatuation, and her best friend Sarah and her strolling the halls......then images of Mika's totally bitchy princess face, and Brian's conceited smirk, and Ashley's flirtatiousness.... She sighed. She hated school. She didn't have very many friends, but she didn't really go out of her way to talk to people. Adrian was kinda shy around people she didn't know. An angry voice jolted Adrian out of her meaningless void. "Huh honey? " her mother said, hand on her hips, her spatula swinging around. Adrian didn't have the faintest clue of what her mother was talking about. "uM, sure mom, " Adrian said, embarrassed because she hadn't been paying attention. When her mother turned back around to flip the pancakes, Adrian slumped over. Her life sucked. Majorly.

At School........

Adrian slumped in her Journalism class, not focusing on Mrs.A's endless droning. Aperture, fixture, who cared anyways? It wasn't as if she was going to be a professional photographer or journalist or whatever. Adrian suddenly sat up, her brown eyes sparkling as she took in the room. This class had been a potential for hotties, but they were all older than Adrian, and guys hardly ever went for girls younger, so Adrian had a fat load of chance. She sat next to a very hot MTV Quiddus look-alike, but she could see that he plainly wasn't interested in her. She guessed that the rumor of her being a lesbian had traveled farther than she had thought. Or maybe she was just hideously ugly. Or both. She tried to pay attention, even though she was all blearly eyed.....She yawned. She hadn't gotten much sleep the night before....She always went to bed around 12:30 and had to wake back up at 6:30, so she was constantly sleep deprived. Although she was so used to it, so it wasn't like she could go back to bed at 8 or something. Finally, the minutes ticked by, and Adrian high tailed it out of that class. "One down, 6 more to go," thought Adrian.

Then it was time for some singing.....Her teacher, Mr.Helal, was very overweight, and most people made fun of him. Though Adrian felt sorry for him, she hated the way that he taught the class.

Adrian walked to her next class, Spanish 2, all the way down to the end of the hallway. She hated walking in the hallways. People always freakin' stared at you, and you had no idea if they were gossiping about your clothes or if they just wanted to get in bed with you. Adrian just hated it-she couldn't stand just staring at other people's faces, so she just looked at the wall, or yawned. For some reason, her eyes always seemed to tear a bit because she was always so sleepy, so it looked like she was practically crying and people would just stare at her even more curiously. Or she would just yawn.....she just didn't like to look at other people and not know what they were thinking about you. Finally, she got to her Spanish class, and she walked into the room, a funky Shakira song playing. Her teacher, Mrs.Holllyn, was so cool because she was well-young, and she was actually kind of hip. She made the class kinda fun, and she was so enthusiastic, unlike Adrian. Adrian moved to the center of the room, where other students were gathered. It appeared to be a seating chart. Adrian took note of her seat, and sat down. Then she realized that she was sitting by a loootttt of potential cuties-there was Scott-he was cute, with blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes, but he always cheated a lot, and Adrian didn't like it when people cheated. It was so...dishonest, and Adrian didn't want to live her life that way, then she would never be able to learn. Then there was Paul-he was the best singer in the school, but he cheated also.....and Adrian didn't like him so much after she found that out. And then one more person, a verrrry cute guy-James. Adrian thought that he was hot..although she didn't like him solely for his looks-he had a funny, goof-ball/troublemaker, crazy sort of personality, and his grin was infectious. Whenever he smiled at her, she couldn't help but smile back, and she always felt that her cheeks were on fire. He was really funny, and he actually had integrity....so Adrian liked him a lot. She sat next to him in English, and couldn't help but wish that she could be in her English class so she could be sitting right next to him right now. Class started, and Mrs.Hollyn waved her hands animatedly, her blue eyes taking in the room, and her short blonde hair swirling about. She lectured for a little bit, and then the class got a treat-to watch Selena! Adrian got caught up in the singing world, and then it was time to move to her next class....

Math class...Adrian actually loved this class. And no, not because she liked math-horror of horrors, no way THAT would actually happen, but she took a seat in the far back, her brown hair swirling about as she took in the Geometry classroom. Adrian was pretty smart, but not in math. So she was stuck in this class, with other people who were average at math like herself. But she liked it, because it wasn't all high pressure like some other math classes. Many math teachers didn't allow partner tests, or take home tests. But the best part was that one of her good friends, Kristen, was in this class. Kristen was very tall, nearly 6'3", but she didn't let that stop her from persuing bball or softball. Adrian liked Kristen cuz Kristen was pretty damn funny. They always cracked up all the time, and as a result, Adrian hadn't paid attention all second semester, so she knew she was gonna fail the final. That was guaranteed. Kristen walked into the room, her short, straight brown hair swirling, and her green eyes sparkling. "Adrian, what is UP?" Kristen grinned. Adrian had to laugh. Kristen was so vivacious, so unlike her, and she always was in a great mood. Adrian grinned back, and pointed, "The ceiling." Kristen laughed hard..."What the hell? Here we are making stupid jokes!" And she and Adrian clutched their sides, howling like crazy. It was very un-Adrian like, and it felt good, she thought to herself. Kristen was like a happy drug. One that she needed, without the side effects. The hour passed quickly, with Adrian jotting down a few notes (which could have been about Timbuktu for all she knew) and then walking outside the class with Kristen.

"So Adi, what's new?" Kristen asked, shouldering her nike bag full of softball stuff. "Oh n/m here k-dog," sighed Adrian. She really wanted to tell Kristen what was up with the whole secret admirer thing, but she felt like it was too heavy to tell with only five minutes for passing time breaks. She chatted a little more wtih Kristen, then waved goodbye as she headed for World Comm. She hated World Comm. with a passion. Then she saw him. He was gorgeous, about 6 ft she would have guessed, with light blue eyes, and light brown hair with a tinge of red. He was coming towards her, and she wished she could just cuddle with him. Oh dream on Adrian, she thought to herself. Like he'd ever be yours. She saw him join a group, with other juniors, and she saw him talking to a mix of girls and guys, and one of the girls had light blonde hair, and was about 5 ft. Great thought Adrian, my competition is shorter than I am. Oh well.
She headed to World Comm., suddenly pissed off. What was wrong with her? Why couldn't she be with someone for once? A loud voice interrupted Adrian's thoughts. She turned around, there was a little pixiesh blonde hor with some greasy looking guy, and she was giggling, "Oh no, stop it," and Adrian saw his hand move to some unchartered territory. Adrian rolled her light brown eyes, and pulled out her cd player. She needed some angst music before she hit somebody.
